David Weir

David is an experienced marketing professional with a wealth of experience in building robust client campaigns, business management, strategic planning and implementation and is currently the owner and operator of one of the energie group’s largest UK Clubs, in Dundee. David ensures that our Franchisees drive forward their sales with local and national opportunities, with a sole aim of creating a profitable return on their personal investment as well as driving the energie brand to become the most diverse and well known fitness brand in Scotland.
David Reid
Head of Business Development, energie Scotland
David is responsible for developing all areas of business in Scotland including new franchises, and distribution of a range of high quality fitness products, including TKO free weights and V-plate. David has over 20 years experience in the health and fitness industry, including club management for a chain of clubs in the 90’s, and 12 years in equipment sales for Technogym and Powerplate.
Jim Durie
Director, energie Scotland
Jim has worked in the Leisure, Health and Fitness Industry, nationally and internationally for 35 years. A post-graduate of Kingston University Business School, Jim has highly developed business skills in the formation, communication and implementation of business strategy. He is experienced in developing tactics as tools to deliver all-inclusive approaches to customer service and in developing strategic network alliances that strengthen and add value to core business functions.
Matt Roberts
Operations Director
Matt has extensive Franchise Business experience as the former owner of one of the most popular food Franchises in the UK. Matt’s key responsibility focuses on guiding new franchisees through the Getting Into Business process as well as implementing new systems and processes. Matt is also responsible for ensuring that quality standards are maintained through audits and monitoring KPI’s all of which are key to our Franchisees’ success. Matt is also the co-owner of Scotland’s flagship club in Dundee.
Ashleigh Ritchie
National Training Manager, energie Scotland
Ashleigh is responsible for all aspects of Franchisee training and ongoing managerial support. Ashleigh is also a past winner of the energie Manager of the Year award for her work in the energie fitness club in Dundee. She also plays a key role in maintaining brand standards across the group through her involvement in our Audit process.
Jan Jones
Director, energie Scotland
Jan has 15 year’s business management and administration experience in the Scottish legal system. Jan will drive sales and recruitment in Scotland ensuring franchisees are fully supported in relation to business performance and profit improvement strategies. Jan is also responsible for developing Scotland’s client relationship management and will provide administrative advice and support to our network of franchisees.
Steve Philpott, a co-founder of energie who was formally the MD of David Lloyd leisure and who remains a shareholder and close friend of the business.
